An expert law enforcement officer teaches the five main components of this training: liability, the dynamics of domestic violence, investigation and interviewing, prosecuting domestic violence cases, and solutions and resource development.

Depending on state regulations, individuals who complete this training can receive 14 hours of POST certification. This training can be hosted by any agency. After completing 40 hours of training, graduates shall receive a Certificate of Completion that will enable them to pursue volunteer and employment opportunities working directly with survivors of domestic violence in California.

Laura's House offers two trainings a year. If you have received any services from Laura's House you must wait an entire year from date of last service received before you can participate in the training.

If you are currently in therapy please note that this is an intensive training that may trigger you, especially if you are a survivor of domestic violence, rape, sexual assault or child abuse. The training will have explicit visuals and survivor testimony. Training at this level is for specialists in sexual assault and domestic and family violence, for example, staff working in a specialist sexual assault or domestic and family violence service, refuges, sexual assault counsellors, independent sexual assault or domestic and family violence professional staff such as social workers, psychologists or counsellors.

DV-alert Domestic Violence Response Training is a free training program that enables workers to recognise, respond and refer to domestic violence. Training and workshops are available Australia-wide to approved participants. Whether an employee is experiencing sexual, domestic or family violence themselves, or is supporting those who are, there are things managers and workplaces can do to respond appropriately, provide support and refer to support services.
