Dell diagnostics said the drive was bad and I had a boot up drive maintenance program that found multiple sectors that it could not recover. As per the description as the Dell diagnostics state that the drive has bad sectors, so I would have you make an attempt to fix the issue using the repair command for checking the disk. Put the Windows 7 installation disc in the disc drive, and then start the computer. Select a language, a time, a currency, a keyboard or an input method, and then click Next.
Click the Operating System that you want to repair, and then click Next. Note: This will change the drive path to the primary partition.
